Your janitorial service probably does most of the cleaning around your office but you can give yourself an organized workspace on the days they don’t clean.
- File It Now – paper clutter is the fastest growing mess on your desk. Keep it in check by filing your papers as you use them. Don’t put them down to deal with later.
- Clear Your Desk – as you work throughout the day things get left on your desk and just seem to multiply without any effort. By clearing your desk at the end of your work day you’ll eliminate distractions and get yourself prepared for a great start the next day.
- Put Everything Away – assign a specific place for everything in your workspace so you know where to put it when you’re clearing your desk. If you don’t have a place to put something you’re more like to let it pile up.
- Declutter – there’s some useful stuff laying around in your office; but do you really need 5 coffee cups, 4 pens that don’t work, or those 10 magnetic calendars you got at the last trade show? Find a place to put them or get them out of your workspace.
